Why Some Organizations Don’t Grow

Here’s a question I’ve chased since I became a lead pastor in 1988 at 26 years of age:

Why do some churches (and organizations) grow, and others don’t?

After I had been at that first church for two weeks, after looking at all the records, I realized the church had been in decline in every area (and as a whole) for 25 years. (Growth for me means making an increasing impact for Christ. It includes the onboarding of new believers as well as the deepening of existing believers.)

Now, several years later, on my journey of working with hundreds of organizations and thousands of leaders, I recognized the answer in the pages of Scripture.
