Helping Solve the Divine Tension

One of the big tensions is leadership is knowing what to do and what not to do.

The most confusing place this can show is understanding “what do I leave to God to do” and “what should I do.”

Many pastors and Christian leaders leave too much to God. That perspective shows in statements like, “It’s all God.”

Another recurring epitaph among Christian leaders is, “It’s all up to God. It does not have anything to do with me.”

These sound spiritual, but are in fact, sadly mistaken. These statements and others like them may reflect overdrawn humility or hyperbole. But, either way, they mislead us in what it means to follow God and lead His people.

Today’s video shows how I’ve better understood this Divine Tension.
