Reshape Your Own Reality

Very few leaders I know did their growing up years in a well-balanced, Christ-centered, loving family who had their needs provided. Most leaders were reared in a less than stellar environment.  

Too many leaders let the sins and weirdness of their families of origin shape their futures. They wrongly assume they cannot be great leaders because of some crazy shaping by their past. 

They may think wrongly about Exodus 34:7. That passage says, in part, “and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation.” 

The past you inherited is not as bad for your leadership as you think, no matter what it is.
