Why personal character is not the key to leadership

Personal development is of primary importance.

But by itself, personal character development does not produce great kingdom results.

Don’t fall for the mistaken idea that your key to kingdom advancement only rests in your own personal character development. Too many leaders get frustrated because they believe this. They wrongly think lackluster results can be remedied by increased personal devotion.

Then, when things don’t go well in their ministries, they blame themselves. I used to believe the ministry goes as well as my personal commitment to the Lord goes. It did not work like that. It can also take you to some bad places emotionally.
