Great leaders invest time solving problems. They know resolving a problem well results in increased momentum for the mission their organization is born to accomplish.

A great problem with problem-solving are the seemingly innumerable options. People, conversations, numbers, buildings, market forces and ———- all seem to jumble together. If we aren’t careful, we never get enough clarity to address the original issue.

One statement has helped me (and others) gain more clarity quickly when a problem arises. It’s simple but not simplistic. This one idea pulls all the other forces into alignment and grants a clear picture of a preferred future.
