One Impulse Every Leader Must Avoid

Time and time again leaders feel (almost) overwhelmingly compelled to do this.

It is a mistake.

There may be somewhere in the universe where this impulse has worked. But in my 35 years of ministry with hundreds of churches and thousands of leaders I have never seen it work. NOT ONCE.

It’s an unusual phenomenon. It happens inside me. Others face it constantly. It also comes through other people. When brainstorming, too often people relinquish themselves to this impulse.

If you want a ministry that advances Christ’s kingdom, avoid this emotional trap.

God has blessed me to learn, formally and informally, from some incredible leaders, and to use that experience to grow organizations by helping leaders grow. I am currently the Founder of LeaderINCREASE and Executive Director of Strategic Church Network  a network of 139 churches.
